Wireless operator T-Mobile Austria and cableco UPC Austria have formally merged into a new full-service provider of mobile and fixed network services known as Magenta Telekom.

Gambia’s Cabinet of Ministers has agreed that state-backed telco Gamtel and its mobile subsidiary Gamcel will be restructured and that shares in Gamcel will subsequently be divested, Gambian newspaper The Voice reported.

British telecoms regulator Ofcom has begun consulting on proposed changes to both the ‘General Conditions’ and the ‘National Telephone Numbering Plan’, with a view to ‘preparing for all eventualities relating to the UK’s planned withdrawal from the EU’.
